Police arrest one person for death threats against journalist Dragan Bursać

Members of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska arrested one person this morning for death threats against journalist Dragan Bursać via Facebook, reports the Patria agency.

The RS Ministry of Interior confirmed in a press release that a 40-year-old man from Gradiška was arrested.

- The Banja Luka - Centar police station was contacted on 07.08.2017 at approximately 12:30 PM by D.B. (born 1975) from Banja Luka, who reported receiving certain threats via the social network Facebook, which made him feel endangered.

By undertaking all operational and tactical measures and actions, police officers obtained information that the perpetrator of this act was A.B. (born 1977) from Gradiška.

On 08.08.2017 at 8 AM, he was deprived of his liberty, and a criminal investigation of the individual is underway at the premises of the Banja Luka Police Administration. The duty district public prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka has been informed of everything.

After the case is completed, police officers will submit a Report on the committed criminal offense of „Endangering Security“ to the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka - stated the RS Ministry of Interior.

We recall, Bursać received a threatening message via Facebook due to a text published on Al Jazeera titled „I was silent while Bihać was shelled“, in which he reminds the public in Republika Srpska of what the siege of Bihać looked like and how some soldiers celebrated even when a student dormitory in Bihać was targeted.

This is already the second threat Dragan Bursać has received in less than a month. Bursać received the first threat after writing a text titled „Is Banja Luka celebrating the Srebrenica genocide?“ ahead of a announced rally of support for Ratko Mladić in Banja Luka on July 11, the day marking the anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.
