SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Police in Mostar arrested six people who took part yesterday in an incident between fan groups. As confirmed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, two police officers and one person who sustained serious bodily injuries were injured.
“The seriously injured person was transferred to the University Clinical Hospital Mostar. So far, six people have been brought in. We are working operationally on the ground and on identifying the persons who caused the incident, and they will all be prosecuted in accordance with legal regulations,” he pointed out.
The injured police officers, Marić said, were hit with stones and long objects on their legs.
As stated by the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, the condition of the injured patient is unchanged and remains life-threatening. He is hospitalized in the neurosurgical anesthesia department in the intensive care unit.
Let us recall, yesterday the incident occurred at the intersection of Cardinal Stepinac and Mile Budak streets near the former Hotel ERO. Several members of fan groups physically clashed, fighting with sticks and stones, and the intervention of the Ministry of Interior of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton stopped the conflict.
