Police seized rifles, pistols, ammunition in Sarajevo in February, issued 183 firearm permits

(Patria) - According to the report on the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton Police Administration for the month of February, there was an increase in the number of committed criminal offenses. 

As part of activities to seize illegally possessed weapons and other items, two rifles, two pistols, one hand grenade, one knife, and 280 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were confiscated. In February of this year, 196 permits for the acquisition of firearms and 183 firearm permits were issued to individuals.

Last month, one motor vehicle was stolen in the KS area, while two that were stolen in an earlier period were returned. 

According to the report, there were five suicides in KS. 

Comparing the data for February of this year and last year, there has been a significant increase in the number of traffic accidents. 

Last month, 827 traffic accidents were registered, of which 771 resulted in material damage and 56 with injured persons. In February of last year, there were 487 traffic accidents. 

Based on statistical data on traffic accidents and injured persons, the causes of traffic accidents are: excessive speed - 80 (17 people injured, two seriously and 15 lightly), influence of alcohol - four (one person lightly injured), other causes 743 (three people killed, 49 injured, eight seriously and 41 lightly).
