Police in Montenegro have their hands full: Incidents and attacks in all major cities

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Police Directorate is acting preventively and responding in every situation in order to preserve stable public order and peace and protect the safety of all citizens of Montenegro, the Police Directorate announced.

"We call on citizens to respect legal regulations, and the police will not allow citizens to clash on the streets of Montenegro. Yesterday, during the day, the Police Directorate recorded several incidents across Montenegro that occurred in six cities.

In Budva, the police identified a person who insulted another person on a national basis, and activities are underway to prosecute them. One person was arrested in Herceg Novi for attacking a police officer under Article 7 of the Law on Public Order and Peace.

The police in Bar are working to identify persons who, in front of a catering facility, directed insults at guests and the owner of the facility.

In Nikšić, the police acted on four incidents yesterday. A criminal complaint was filed against L. M. (38) from this city. He fired several shots from a firearm and discarded the weapon, which the police found and seized.

Nikšić police are working on three cases related to incidents that occurred yesterday in this city, involving four individuals for assaulting an official, disturbing public order and peace, and destroying property.

In addition, 29 individuals were sanctioned for violations of the Road Traffic Safety Law," the police stated.

In Pljevlja, a physical altercation involving several people occurred in a catering facility. The incident was reported to the police by E. P., who stated that he and another person were physically attacked by unknown individuals in the restaurant's garden, after which they fled the scene, the police added.

"The public prosecutor was informed of the incident, the individuals have been identified, and further measures and actions are underway. Additionally, regarding insults directed at E. P. that occurred several hours later, the police informed the prosecutor, who stated that there were no elements of a criminal offense.

The police in Pljevlja acted on another report of insults and identified the person from whom a statement was taken, and the prosecutor was informed, who stated that the actions of the individual did not constitute a criminal offense. Another incident was reported regarding a misunderstanding between two people, which the police had no grounds to act upon.

Regarding public gatherings in the capital city, the police responded to a report that an official vehicle of Radio Television of Montenegro was damaged by unknown persons. An investigation was conducted, and police activities are ongoing, reports antenaM.

On Ivan Crnojević Boulevard, public order and peace were disturbed when several individuals entered a catering facility, started breaking glasses, and physically attacked guests, after which they stole two mobile phones.

Two people sustained minor injuries in this incident. Measures and actions are being taken to identify the perpetrators.

Furthermore, a disturbance of public order and peace was registered in the City Kvart settlement, involving several individuals who were physically fighting. One person sustained minor injuries at the time.
