Police in Banja Luka seize drugs and weapons, nine people arrested

(Patria) - Police officers of the Banja Luka Police Administration have arrested nine people in the past five days for criminal offenses and misdemeanors related to drug abuse.

As announced by the Banja Luka Police Department, Z.P. and N.H. were arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs and illegal production and trafficking of weapons or explosives.

"Based on the orders of the Basic Court in Banja Luka, and with the prior consent of the duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka, searches were carried out at three locations in Banja Luka, during which a precision scale, an automatic rifle with a magazine and ammunition, as well as other items that could be linked to the commission of the aforementioned criminal offenses were found and seized," they announced.

S.M., N.P., and N.R., all from Banja Luka, as well as B.Č. from Montenegro and D.D. from Austria, were arrested for violating the Law on Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs.

"A certain amount of white powdery substance, which visually resembles cocaine, was found and seized from persons S.M. and D.D., while a certain amount of green plant matter, which visually resembles marijuana, was found and seized from persons N.P., N.R., and B.Č. Persons M.R. and D.Š., both from Banja Luka, were deprived of their liberty for violating the Law on the Fundamentals of Road Traffic Safety in BiH," the statement states.

During the control of passenger vehicles they were driving, they refused to undergo testing for the presence of narcotic drugs in their bodies.
