Police searching for arsonist who set fire to Orthodox church warehouse in Pofalići neighbourhood

At 8:10 this morning, the Second Police Station Novo Sarajevo was notified that a fire had broken out in the warehouse of the Orthodox Church of the Holy Transfiguration in the Pofalići neighbourhood, but that there were no injured persons, reports the Patria news agency.

Members of the Sarajevo Professional Fire Brigade extinguished the fire 15 minutes later.

Major material damage was caused to the building. The duty prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office was informed about the fire. An investigation was carried out by members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior and a court expert for fire protection (PPZ).

The expert determined that the fire was set intentionally. Members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior are searching for the arsonist, and video footage from surveillance cameras will assist in the search.
