Police removed ceramic bones placed in Potočari due to VIP guests' passage

The artistic installation „Million Bones“ which volunteers of the Center for Post-Conflict Research had been setting up all day yesterday was removed last night by members of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies due to the passage of VIPs on July 11 in Potočari, confirmed for the Patria agency Velma Šarić, director of CPI. 100,000 bones had been placed, and volunteers from 20 countries worked all day.

- The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies removed the bones because VIPs coming to Potočari will pass that way. We really couldn't argue with them. Everyone is under certain pressure, but we will continue with our action because the ceramic bones are undamaged. We will carry out actions in other cities and in Srebrenica until the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the genocide passes - said Šarić for NAP.

This installation was meant to be a witness for generations to come that in Srebrenica in 1995 one of the greatest genocides in this part of BiH and Europe after World War II occurred, and that it was against Bosniaks by their Serbian neighbors, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The installation was placed in Washington in 2013.
