Police wounded a man who set fire to a vehicle in Ilidža and shot at police officers

(Patria) - This morning around 4:15 AM, a firearm was used between a perpetrator of a criminal offense and police officers who were performing regular duties and tasks in the Pejton settlement, Ilidža municipality.

After they started pursuing a then-unknown man, who was suspected of having set fire to a vehicle, he ignored police orders and then began shooting at police officers with a firearm. Police officers caught up with him at a gas station in Stup.

In defense against the attack on their lives, police officers returned fire and wounded the attacker. The man J.H. (1985) is undergoing medical treatment at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS) and is not in life-threatening condition.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton (KTKS) has been informed and the investigation is ongoing.
