Split police have reported 53-year-old Ante Đuzela, the HDZ mayor of Imotski, for the criminal offenses of fraud and forgery of official documents, reports the Patria news agency.
He is suspected of using forged medical reports to obtain the status of a war veteran and of having gained property benefits of 97,000 kuna from 2000 until today. That amounts to about 500 kuna per month.
The investigation was conducted by the Economic Crime Department of the Split Police Administration in cooperation with the Military Police and the State Attorney's Office, reports Index.
