Police transferring migrants from Bira to Lipa but there is no space

(Patria) - The Municipal Council of Bosanska Krupa adopted at its session a Proposal for a Conclusion banning the transport of migrants to the territory of the municipality of Bosanska Krupa along the entity border.

"This is the first concrete step by the municipal authorities, and as could be heard, not the last, aimed at preventing the increasingly frequent and massive transport of migrants from other municipalities and cities to Bosanska Otoka, at the entity border," it is stated on the website of the Municipality of Bosanska Krupa. 

The Krajina region has been facing the migrant crisis for three full years, and the authorities of the Una-Sana Canton have already adopted restrictive measures regarding the accommodation and movement of migrants. Thus, today, in accordance with an earlier decision to close the migrant camp Bira, 150 migrants were transferred to the Lipa camp. 

At a meeting held on August 31 in Sarajevo with representatives of the Una-Sana Canton, international organizations dealing with migrant accommodation, and the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Selmo Cikotić, a conclusion was reached to begin relocating migrants away from urban and populated areas. 

The police escorted 100 migrants from the Bira camp to the Lipa camp, but the problem is that the camp has already exceeded its capacity of 1,000 places. 

This was posted on Twitter by Peter Van der Auweraert, head of the IOM Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, stating that transferring migrants to a full camp is not a solution.
