The attacker who killed nine people in Munich was obsessed with mass murders and had an obvious connection to Norwegian mass murderer Andreas Breivik, German police said, Patria reports.
Police searching the room of the 18-year-old killer David S. said they found written material about the attacks. Calls for people to come to a restaurant near the Olympia shopping center were also found.
His idol Breivik killed 78 people in Norway on the same day, July 22, 2011. Breivik first killed nine people with a bomb in the capital Oslo, and then 69 young men and women at a summer camp for young political activists on the island of Utoya.
He harbored radical right-wing views and said his attack was aimed at stopping Muslim immigration to Europe. It is no coincidence that the attack in Munich occurred on the day of the Oslo massacre.
