Police Remind: Dog Attack is a Criminal Offense

Police officers of the Banja Luka Police Administration are working to document the criminal offense of "Endangering Public Safety" in connection with the attack by two "Asian Shepherd" dogs on several citizens in Žarka Zgonjanina street in Banja Luka.

The attack occurred on Saturday around 9:30 PM, and as stated in the statement from the Banja Luka Police Administration, "police officers are taking all legally prescribed operational measures and actions under the supervision of the acting prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office of Banja Luka."

- After receiving the report, police officers of the PS Banja Luka - Lauš went to the scene and determined that the attacked persons were: M.R. (1956), Z.M. (1960), M.M. (1958), M.R. (1961), and S.R. (1996) - the statement reads.

It is added that all of them sustained multiple bites, while the injured M.R. (1956) sustained bites to the neck and chest, and after receiving emergency medical assistance, the injured were transported to the University Clinical Center of RS for medical treatment.

- M.R. passed away after receiving medical assistance, and an autopsy of the body has been ordered - the statement from the Banja Luka Police Administration reads.

Otherwise, two dogs owned by B.S. jumped over the yard fence on two occasions after their owner let them out of their kennel and bit five people. Municipal police officers on the ground determined that the dogs had not been vaccinated, as a veterinarian had been prevented from doing so ten days prior due to their aggressiveness.
