Police uncover election fraud: M.S. promised money and food to 80 Roma if they vote for Mićo Mićić

The Bijeljina Public Security Centre, in cooperation with the Administration for Organised and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, submitted to the District Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina a report on the criminal offence of bribery in elections or voting against M.S. from Bijeljina, writes the Patria news agency.

He is suspected of promising H.H. and M.B., in the period before the local elections, a reward for members of the Roma community, packages of food products with the intention of inducing them to vote in the local elections for candidates Mićo Mićić and Tomica Stojanović.

H.H. and M.B., in the period before the local elections, collected 80 ID cards of members of the Roma community, their general data, informed the Roma community members who they should vote for according to instructions, and that in return, as promised by M.S., they would receive packages of food products or money.

The collected documents were handed over to M.S. on 1 October, so that local teams on election day, 2 October, could organise transport for members of the Roma community to polling stations to vote, based on the collected documents, the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
