At the green market on Trg ZAVNOBiH-a in Alipašino Polje, the removal of stalls began this morning in accordance with the decision of the Novi Grad Municipality, and the police have cordoned off the market area with yellow tape, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Namely, the traders at this market are members of the Association of War Veterans "Defenders of Sarajevo" who do not want to leave this space and pay rent in the building next to the market.
- This market was here even before the war. What should we do, give what little we earn for rent? - says one of the traders, adding that for many this is their only source of income.
The traders have stated that they will not move, and have gathered with their families, while a large number of police officers have formed a cordon around the traders.
