Police did not solve 60 but 30 percent of criminal offenses: Report of the MUP KS for 2015 will be falsified

The report on the number of solved criminal offenses in 2015, which the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton was supposed to present on Monday, is not accurate! A source of the Patria agency from the MUP KS claims that the MUP wants to show that in 2015 they solved more than 60 percent of the total criminal offenses committed in the area of the Sarajevo Canton, but that data does not reflect the real situation.

This source claims that the police actually solved 30, not 60 percent of the total criminal offenses committed in the area of the Sarajevo Canton last year.

According to statistical data from the MUP KS, in this canton of the Federation of BiH, a total of 5,551 criminal offenses were committed in 2015. That is about 700 offenses less than in 2014. The Minister of Interior Ismir Jusko and Commissioner Vahid Ćosić will boast that the police solved as many as 3,563 of those offenses, or 64.2 percent.

Jusko and Ćosić count among the offenses solved by the police also 1,853 offenses that are recorded in the MUP as criminal offenses by a known person, i.e., those offenses that were not discovered by the police. If the offenses recorded as offenses by a known person are excluded from the MUP report, it is evident that the police in the area of the Sarajevo Canton solved 30, not 60 percent of the total criminal offenses last year, Patria writes.

In the following installment, we reveal why the reports of the MUP and the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton on the number of committed criminal offenses do not match
