Police near Kladanj discovered vehicle with 1,500 packs of 'Trokader' and 'FM' cigarettes

Officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority temporarily seized a larger quantity of cigarettes on the Sarajevo – Tuzla main road, the UIO announced.  

The cigarettes, which were not marked with the legally prescribed excise stamps of the Indirect Taxation Authority, were found in a passenger motor vehicle of the VW brand, driven by a person with initials B. R. The inspection was carried out on the Sarajevo – Tuzla main road by UIO officers from the Anti-Smuggling Department of the Tuzla Regional Center in cooperation with officers of the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton – Kladanj Police Station. 

Approximately 1,000 packs of 'TROKADERO' cigarettes and 500 packs of 'FM' cigarettes were discovered in the vehicle, intended for the black market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as they were not marked with UIO excise stamps.

The cigarettes were discovered with the help of specialized equipment donated to Bosnia and Herzegovina by the U.S. government. 
A request for initiation of misdemeanor proceedings will be filed against the man who attempted to transport the cigarettes, the UIO announced, as reported by Patria.
