Police pull man out of Miljacka River

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - This morning at 09:50, the duty service of the First Police Station – Stari Grad Sarajevo was notified by citizens that an unidentified male was in the Miljacka River, near the dam at Šeher-Ćehaja Bridge.

"Upon arriving at the scene, police officers confirmed the report and, through a swift intervention, entered the riverbed despite the risk, pulled the male onto the bank, and provided first aid. Additionally, a team from the Sarajevo Canton Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance arrived at the scene and provided medical care to the injured person, after which he was transported to the Sarajevo University Clinical Center where he was kept for further treatment," stated the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.

This is yet another positive example of cooperation between citizens and the police, where, thanks to timely reporting by citizens and the dedicated, efficient response of police officers, a human life was saved.
