Police investigating: 31-year-old Sarajevo resident claims he shot himself in the leg

Last night (April 26) at 7:45 PM, the Third Police Station was notified by employees of the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service that a person with injuries caused by a firearm had been brought to the facility, reports the Patria news agency.  

Checks established that the person is K.A., born in 1985, residing in Sarajevo.

The doctor determined that K.A. sustained serious bodily injuries to the left leg. In an interview, K.A. stated that he accidentally fired a pistol and thereby inflicted bodily injuries on himself while in the yard of a house on Alibega Firdusa Street, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality.

The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed of the incident. The scene was investigated by police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, who continue to work on clarifying and documenting the event, the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton announced.
