Police arrest and search at 13 locations in three cantons

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Early this morning, police teams began simultaneous searches at 13 locations in the area of Visoko, 7 locations in the area of Sarajevo Canton and 2 locations in the area of Tuzla Canton, the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton announced.

This is a continuation of a comprehensive police operation code-named “Meta”, conducted by the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton, aimed at depriving of liberty and prosecuting persons suspected of committing the criminal offenses of: “Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs”, “Disclosure of official secrets”, “Abuse of position or authority” and “Quackery”.

Activities within the “META” operation are undertaken in cooperation and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and are carried out pursuant to orders of the municipal courts in Zenica and Visoko. Today's activities are conducted in cooperation with police teams of the Federal Police Administration, the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, and the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton.

“During the searches, 8 persons were deprived of liberty and placed under control, while two persons are being intensively searched for and efforts are underway to locate them. We will be able to confirm more details about the results of the operation during the day, after the completion of the indicated activities,” said the Ministry of Interior of ZDC.
