Covering the Deficit: Sarajevo Canton Government Takes New Loan of 17 Million KM

To cover part of the deficit of the Sarajevo Canton Budget, the Sarajevo Canton Government today at an emergency session adopted a Proposal for a Decision on borrowing for a loan in the amount of up to 17,000,000 KM and forwarded it to further parliamentary procedure, reports the Patria news agency.

In the Sarajevo Canton Budget for 2015, receipts from direct borrowing for the purpose of covering the deficit from previous years were set at up to 20,000,000 KM.

The Sarajevo Canton Government adopted a Decision on June 19, 2014, authorizing the Ministry of Finance to conduct a public procurement procedure for financial services for long-term credit borrowing of the Sarajevo Canton up to the amount of 20,000,000 KM to cover part of the deficit of the Sarajevo Canton Budget for this year.

The Ministry of Finance conducted a public procurement procedure, open to international competition, for long-term credit borrowing services divided into five lots. For one of the five announced lots, no bid was received, so the planned borrowing under this Decision amounts to 17,000,000.00 KM.
