POLLS SHOW Kamala Harris fares better than Donald Trump in three key states

(Patria) - A new poll conducted by the New York Times and Siena College on Saturday showed that presidential candidate Kamala Harris has taken the lead in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, three key states, Reuters reported.

Harris is ahead of Donald Trump by four percentage points in those three states, 50% to 46% among likely voters in each state, according to polls conducted from August 5 to 9.

The margin of sampling error among likely voters was plus-minus 4.8 percentage points in Michigan, plus-minus 4.2 points in Pennsylvania, and plus-minus 4.3 points in Wisconsin, the report adds. A total of 1,973 likely voters were interviewed for these polls.

Democratic U.S. President Joe Biden ended his re-election bid on July 21 and endorsed Harris after a disastrous debate against Trump in late June. Her entry reignited a campaign that had stumbled badly due to Democrats' doubts about Biden's chances of beating Trump or his ability to continue governing if he won the election.

Polls showed that Trump had an advantage over Biden, including in key states, after Biden's debate performance, but Harris's entry into the race changed the dynamics.

An Ipsos poll released on Thursday showed Harris leading Trump nationally with 42% to 37%. The nationwide online poll of 2,045 people was conducted from August 2 to 7 and had a margin of error of about 3 percentage points.
