A Siberian tiger ate a pet dog in China, and local authorities believe it is one of the three tigers released into the wild in May by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The tiger, named Kuzya, was filmed in China eating a domestic dog and was identified by a GPS device it wears around its neck. The footage was taken on Heixiazi Island, which connects China and Russia.
Mirror reports, citing Chinese media, that Kuzya is believed to have returned to Russia after its meal, reports the Patria News Agency.
This is not the first time this tiger has been accused of killing domestic animals in China, as it is suspected of slaughtering goats and livestock in night raids on rural farms. GPS data indicates that Kuzya first crossed the Russian-Chinese border two months ago.
Experts believe that only 500 wild Siberian tigers remain at large. Their natural habitat is the Russian Far East, northeastern China, and the northern parts of the Korean Peninsula.
