Duška Rađević (36) from Banja Luka died in a traffic accident that occurred on Krajiških brigada Street in Banja Luka. The accident happened last night around 8 PM, and the deceased was a pedestrian, the District Public Prosecutor's Office of Banja Luka announced.
The other participant in the traffic accident is currently unknown, as they fled the scene in an unknown direction after the accident. A car, most likely an SUV, hit the woman as she was crossing the two-lane street, killing her instantly. The driver did not stop but fled the scene immediately.
The force of the impact threw the body into the opposite lane. The police were notified of the incident by an anonymous eyewitness.
The police are appealing to citizens to inform them if they have seen or learned anything about this case.
The on-site investigation was conducted by the duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office, Deniala Šertović, along with authorized officials from the Banja Luka Police Station for Traffic Safety.
The duty prosecutor ordered investigative actions and measures to find the other participant in the traffic accident and to clarify all circumstances, and an autopsy was also ordered at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Republic of Srpska.
