Incentives for agricultural producers in KS 6.1 million KM

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At today's extraordinary session of the KS Government, the Decision on incentives for agricultural producers in the Canton Sarajevo area for 2021 was adopted.

It is important to emphasize that the Ministry of Economy of Canton Sarajevo conducted the process of preparing the Decision transparently and in cooperation with cantonal agricultural producers. Namely, on February 23, the Draft Decision was published on the Ministry's website, and four days later, a public debate was held where farmers had the opportunity to discuss and provide suggestions and remarks on its content. They were also given the opportunity to submit any additional suggestions and remarks in writing by the end of the first week of March. After that, they were analyzed in detail and attached to the Report from the public debate, as an appendix to this decision.

"For this purpose, 6,100,000 KM is provided in the Budget, and these are certainly the largest allocations to date for agricultural incentives, while the incentive amounts per unit of agricultural production were created based on the volume of production in the previous year, as well as on information about new production capacities," said the Minister of Economy of KS Adnan Delić on this occasion.

At the same session, the Government also adopted the Action Plan for the purchase, reception, handover, and distribution of 136.7 tons of ware potatoes and 11 tons of onions, in order to help farmers who received incentives for the production of these crops last year, but could not fully market them due to a series of consequences brought about by the Sars-Cov 2 virus pandemic.

We remind you that the Ministry submitted an Initiative to the KS Government to find funds for the purchase of market surpluses of these agricultural crops. The initiative was adopted in mid-March, with a Conclusion on finding funds for the purchase of these products. In this regard, the Government, by Conclusion from the session at the end of March, tasked the Directorate for Commodity Reserves to, in cooperation with the Ministries of Economy, Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, and the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, prepare an Action Plan for the purchase, reception, handover, and distribution of these agricultural crops, which was adopted today. It is planned that the purchase and distribution project will last a maximum of four weeks, i.e., it will be realized during April.

Minister Delić emphasized that the increase in funds for incentives, as well as the purchase of market surpluses of potatoes and onions, are ways in which the KS Government and the Ministry of Economy are trying to alleviate this difficult and challenging pandemic period for entrepreneurs at least a little.
