Support of the HJPC of BiH for the work of the Court and Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Regarding the pressures to which the Court and Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been exposed through the media, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) wishes to express strong support for the work of the Court and Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the efforts that these institutions, in accordance with the law, undertake in the fight against perpetrators of all criminal offenses within their jurisdiction, reports the Patria news agency.

The HJPC BiH strongly opposes any pressure on the work of judicial institutions, especially those that could call into question the impartial and independent work of courts and prosecutor's offices.

- We remind the public that the work of judicial institutions is aimed at the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and relates exclusively to the prosecution of persons who, through their actions, have come into conflict with the laws of our country. In their work, judicial institutions, including the Court and Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, fully respect the rules, procedures and laws in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and conduct proceedings in accordance with the highest judicial standards.

Furthermore, the HJPC BiH strongly condemns any type of attack on holders of judicial functions, judges and prosecutors, who work diligently and dedicatedly on extremely difficult and complex cases, especially in the area of corruption and organized crime, which are a source of great concern for the entire public of Bosnia and Herzegovina - the statement said.

The HJPC further called on all media in Bosnia and Herzegovina to support the work of judicial institutions in our country so that, through joint efforts, we can ensure full rule of law and sanction all individuals who have violated the law, regardless of the positions they hold.
