Support for the best students in FBiH

(Patria) - The Federal Ministry of Education and Science announced that this year it will again reward the best students in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nearly 100,000 KM has been allocated for these one-time financial supports.

A total of 74 students will be awarded for their excellent performance in the academic year 2022/2023. These students were nominated by faculties within public higher education institutions in the Federation of BiH, the University of Sarajevo and the Franciscan Theology Sarajevo, the Universities of Tuzla, Zenica and Bihać, as well as the University „Džemal Bijedić“ Mostar and the University of Mostar.

According to the criteria established and published by the Ministry, these are the best final-year students of the first cycle of studies, or integrated studies, who had the highest grade point average, of 10 or close to 10, or 5 or close to 5, in the past academic year.

Furthermore, the Ministry's announcement states that, as in previous years, students with disabilities and students of Roma nationality will be supported within the framework of financing basic and expanded student standards. In addition, accommodation and meals are continuously subsidized for about 300 students from the three least developed cantons: Posavina, Bosansko-Podrinjski, and Canton 10, as well as from Republika Srpska.

In order to improve the expanded student standard, student organizations of public higher education institutions in FBiH were supported this year in the implementation of domestic and international student projects, as well as student exchanges and internships, along with public higher education institutions in the Federation of BiH with projects significant for the implementation of the Bologna Process.

This support for the reform of higher education in the Federation of BiH is intended for projects ensuring the quality of study programs in the first and second cycles of study, as well as for projects connecting study programs of the first and second cycles of study with labor market needs, according to the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.
