Arson suspected in car fire, owner extinguished blaze with citizens

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A fire broke out on a VW Bora car owned by Đ.A. from Sarajevo on Trg heroja street on Thursday around 11:20 AM. 

- The fire was extinguished by the owner and citizens. No one was injured, and the vehicle sustained material damage.

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was notified.

An investigation was conducted by police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and an authorized court expert in fire protection and engineering. The investigation concluded that the fire was caused by an open flame set by an unknown perpetrator. Efforts are ongoing to clarify and document the criminal offense, and to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
