Indictment filed against Rade Gligorović for smuggling 15,889 cartons of cigarettes

(Patria) - A prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed an indictment against Rade Gligorović, born in 1996 in Milići, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused is charged with driving a truck and trailer from Serbia to the border crossing at Karakaj near Zvornik, and in a concealed and specially constructed space in the cargo area of the trailer, contrary to the provisions of the Customs Policy Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Excise Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, transporting across the customs line into Bosnia and Herzegovina a quantity of 15,889 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, which were not marked with control and tax stamps prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a total estimated value of 72,590.33 BAM, which were found and seized by members of the Border Police of Zvornik.

The accused is charged with transporting goods of higher value across the customs line while avoiding customs control measures, thereby committing the criminal offense of "Smuggling" under Article 214, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The indictment proposes the confiscation of items used in the commission of the criminal offense, namely the seized cigarettes, as well as the truck and trailer used for smuggling.

The prosecution will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling five witnesses and submitting the collected evidence.

The indictment has been forwarded for confirmation to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
