Indictment filed against Nedžad Mujić for going to Syria and activities in ISIL

An indictment has been filed against Nedžad Mujić for going to Syria and participating in ISIL activities, the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced, writes Patria.

The accused is charged with having travelled to Syria on several occasions, where he provided financial and other support to the activities of the so-called "ISIL", which has been declared a terrorist organization by a UN Security Council decision.

Mujić Nedžad, known as "Ebu Mubarek", was born in 1959 in the town of Šepak, Zvornik, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria.

The accused is charged with having travelled from the Republic of Austria to the territory of Syria on several occasions from September 2013 to mid-2015, where he provided financial and logistical support to members of the so-called "ISIL" terrorist organization, which operates in Syria and Iraq, and which was declared a terrorist organization by the UN in 2013.

The accused is charged with having travelled to Syria multiple times, and provided support in money to ISIL members from Bosnia and Herzegovina, by giving them various amounts of money, and distributing over 10,000 euros, as well as a field motor vehicle, as support to ISIL members, and for a period of time was engaged as a cook for members of the "ISIL" military formations.

The accused is charged with committing the prolonged criminal offense of Organizing a Terrorist Group from Article 202d, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all in conjunction with Article 54 of the same Law.

The indictment, along with the evidence, will be forwarded to the Court of BiH.
