The State Prosecutor's Office has raised an indictment against former member of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) Milan Komad, charging him with crimes committed in Višegrad, BIRN reported, as carried by the Patria news agency.
Komad is charged with killing one person in early June 1992 in the settlement of Kosovo Polje (Višegrad municipality).
According to the indictment, he came to the settlement where persons of Bosniak nationality lived, who had left their homes and fled across the Drina River for safety.
- Noticing a person hiding in the yard of his house, the accused ran to his property and called out with the words: 'Stop.' Fearing for his life, the person tried to flee, after which the accused fired a burst from an automatic rifle and killed him, the State Prosecutor's Office stated.
Komad is defending himself from freedom, and he resides in Višegrad.
The indictment has been forwarded for confirmation to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
