Indictment filed against Adnan Halilović, Muharem Kopačić and Džejla Tuholjak for cruel kidnapping

GRAČANICA, (Patria) - The Municipal Court in Gračanica accepted the proposal of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton and ordered a one-month detention for Adnan Halilović (35), Muharem Kopačić (22) and Džejla Tuholjak (24), all from Gračanica, due to reasonable suspicion that they, as accomplices, committed the criminal offense of unlawful deprivation of liberty in a cruel manner, thereby seriously harming the health of one person.

Furthermore, they are also suspected of the criminal offense of possession and enabling the use of narcotic drugs.

A one-month detention was also ordered for a minor who participated in the unlawful deprivation of liberty, while authorities are still searching for one more suspect.

They are suspected of having arrived by car at a house in Gračanica on the morning of February 20, where the victim S.J. was temporarily staying with his wife and child. Using threats with a pistol and striking the victim with their fists, they forced him to get ready and go with them. After that, they put him in the trunk of the car, drove him outside the city into a forest, where they forced him to undress, tied a cable around one of his legs, threw the other end over a tree branch, and lifted him off the ground. During this, they struck him with their fists, feet, and sticks all over his body, seriously harming his health, after which they untied him and told him to run.

Officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton, acting on the order of the Prosecutor's Office and a court warrant, conducted searches at several locations used by the suspects, during which a small amount of the narcotic drug amphetamine and one precision scale were found on the three mentioned individuals.

The suspects were deprived of their liberty and, after criminal processing, handed over to the Prosecutor's Office.

The acting prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation and interrogated the suspects.
