(Patria) - UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk says that since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than 10,500 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and more than 20,000 injured.
- The conflict is becoming entrenched and protracted, punctuated by waves of recurring attacks, as seen across the country last week - Türk said today, reports the British The Guardian.
In a video message at a meeting on his report titled "Human Rights in Ukraine," Türk said that conflicts on Ukrainian territory have intensified since last week.
- I fear the world has become desensitized to this crisis - said Türk, adding that Russian forces in Ukraine often violate international humanitarian law.
