Exhumation underway in Kneževo municipality under the supervision of the BiH Prosecutor's Office

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - An exhumation process is underway at the Duboki Potok site in the municipality of Kneževo, coordinated by a prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes of the BiH Prosecutor's Office with a professional associate who is directly at the location.

This is a very inaccessible location, in a mountain gorge, which was previously demined by order of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, and an alpinist team from the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA is providing support in the process of searching for mortal remains.

A forensic pathologist, a representative of the ICMP field office within the operational group for missing persons search "TERA", representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons and the International Commission on Missing Persons ICMP, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS securing the location, are present on the ground.

Ropes and specialized equipment are being used in the search for mortal remains.

So far, several fragments of human bones have been found, which are presumed to belong to one person, and the search is intensively continuing.

According to operational data, mortal remains of victims of Bosniak nationality from the Kotor-Varoš area, who were trying to cross towards Travnik via Vlašić during 1992, could be located at this site.

Exhumation work is intensively continuing.
