Animal Health Laboratory Begins Operations, a Prerequisite for Export of Goods to the EU

Nihad Fejzić, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Sarajevo, today announced the start of operations of the Animal Health Laboratory at the Institute in Stup. On this occasion, the faculty was visited by the Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šemsudin Dedić, and the Minister of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, Muharem Šabić.

- Today is a special day for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Sarajevo. After much work and administrative obstacles, I announce the imminent start of operations of this important laboratory. The project is financed by World Bank funds and its finalization has been long awaited.

- The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has been engaging all relevant actors in this complex system for some time, in order to work together for the benefit of the community. I highlight only some programs, such as those concerning animal disease control, conditions for the export of food of animal origin to EU countries, which devote great attention and all resources to these important segments – said Professor Fejzić.

The development of agriculture, livestock farming and the production of healthy food is also a response for sustainable return and economic development, and for returnees in the Republika Srpska.
