Insulation of the Ilidža Health Center Begins, Savings on Bills Will Repay the Loan

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Edin Forto, Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of KS Enver Hadžiahmetović, and Mayor of Ilidža Municipality Nermin Muzur visited the Ilidža Health Center building today.

They attended the commencement of preparatory works, namely the installation of scaffolding and protective netting on the first facade of the building. The works are being implemented within the framework of the project "Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings of KS".

The project includes planned works to increase energy efficiency of the building's external envelope, which entails the replacement of dilapidated openings (windows and doors), facade thermal insulation, and related preparatory, painting, sheet metal, and lightning protection works.

It is important to emphasize that all planned measures for this facility have been previously agreed upon with the author of the design solution, architect Dragan Bijedić.

"The citizens of Ilidža and the employees of the Health Center have waited too long for the renovation of the building. The project was drawn up long ago, but it was waiting for our Government and our EBRD energy efficiency project. A new thermal facade and windows are being installed. It will be more comfortable for patients and employees, and the savings on heating bills will repay the loan. This is one of 40 buildings we are renovating, mostly kindergartens, schools, student dormitories, and faculties," stated Prime Minister Forto during the visit.

Minister Hadžiahmetović said that the value of the works on this facility is around one million KM.

"This is one of the largest investments within the energy efficiency improvement project. In addition to energy savings, the building will acquire a more modern appearance. It will be one of the most representative public buildings in Sarajevo Canton, contributing to the creation of a new and better image of Ilidža," said Minister Hadžiahmetović.

Mayor Muzur expressed satisfaction with the realization of this significant project in the municipality of Ilidža.

"A new million-euro investment in the area of Ilidža municipality will completely change the appearance of our local community. This project is another indicator of the exceptionally good cooperation between the Municipality of Ilidža and the Government of Sarajevo Canton, which we are undertaking in the interest and for the benefit of our citizens," said Mayor Muzur.

The financing of the project is secured through loan funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the amount of eight million euros, while the European Union has provided grant funds in the amount of two million euros.
