Raiffeisen Bank Robbery: Three Arrested Remain in Custody, Two Released

Regarding the proposal by the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton to impose pre-trial detention on the suspects in the Raiffeisen Bank robbery in Ilidža on November 5, 2015, Amel Sejfović, Arif Hajradinović, Anel Hajrović, Nizama Beširović, and Haris Hajrović, the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo held a hearing yesterday, a hearing to which this prosecutor's office, as a party to the proceedings, was not informed at all, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

At the same time, after the hearing, the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo decided to release the suspects Nizama Beširović and Haris Hajrović, considering that there were no special reasons indicating that these two suspects would obstruct the investigation if released, nor reasons indicating that the suspect Haris Hajrović would hide or flee, thus obstructing the criminal proceedings.

Namely, by the Decision of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, which this prosecutor's office received today, pre-trial detention was imposed on the suspects Sejfović Amel, as well as on Hajradinović Arif and Hajrović Anel (who were on the run at the time of the proposal) for all grounds prescribed by law, while the suspects Nizama Beširović and Haris Hajrović were released yesterday. Pre-trial detention under this decision can last until December 6, 2015.

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo will file an appeal against this decision of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, which will be decided by the non-trial panel of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo.

Otherwise, in the operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, which was carried out on Friday in the Otoka settlement, Anel Sejfović was also arrested and released on Saturday, because, as his lawyer Mirsad Sipović stated, he has an alibi, meaning he was only released from prison in Ustikolina on Friday, the day after the robbery, where he is serving his sentence. Also, Alma Sejfović was arrested in the operation and was also released.

Of the first five arrested on Friday, only Amel Sejfović was detained and ordered into custody, while Hajrović was arrested on November 7 in Slavonski Brod, and a search is still underway for Hajradinović.
