Plenković joins Dodik in attacking Schmidt

(Patria) - It seems Zoran Milanović is not alone in supporting Milorad Dodik's destructive policy. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, initially always cautious, following the views of Milorad Dodik, has sharply attacked the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt.

Commenting on a Croatian journalist's statement that "with the arrival of German official Christian Schmidt (High Representative, editorial note), the United Nations report continued with the stereotypical portrayal of Serbs, and then Croats, as bad guys," Plenković stated that Schmidt expresses dangerous prejudices. He sees these, similar to Dodik, in the reports of the High Representative in BiH.

"Christian Schmidt, whom I personally know and respect, is an experienced politician who wishes well to Bosnia and Herzegovina. I think he is well acquainted with the situation, including the issue of the position of Croats. On the other hand, in a number of international documents, we still have blanket assessments, wrong stereotypes, dangerous prejudices, and a deep misunderstanding of the specifics of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Plenković said.

Plenković did not clarify what these dangerous prejudices consist of or what specifically he objects to regarding the High Representative in BiH. However, this calls into question the sincerity of the Republic of Croatia's support for the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, which was expressed during the last discussion in the UN Security Council.

We remind you that the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the UN supported precisely that report by Christian Schmidt, which Prime Minister Plenković, as well as Schmidt in general, is now sharply criticizing.

The most dissatisfied with Schmidt's report, of course, was the member of the BiH Presidency from the RS entity, Milorad Dodik, who completely rejected the report. However, it was clear that Dodik opposed the High Representative's reports, while Plenković's public opposition is a complete novelty.

It should not be surprising if the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, continuing with Milorad Dodik's logical reasoning, starts attacking German policy, although it is difficult to expect Plenković to call Schmidt's messages fascist like Dodik does.
