Platform for Progress: Karadžić's Verdict is a Lesson for the Future, May It Never Happen Again

SARAJevo: There is no verdict that can diminish the pain of mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters who lost their loved ones. The verdicts of the Hague Tribunal should be a lesson for the future so that such evil never happens to anyone again, stated the Platform for Progress.

"We welcome the life sentence, which is the only just one. We hoped that the judges would find the strength and make a decision that charges Karadžić also for the genocide committed in other municipalities. As we see, extremism is greatly expanding worldwide. Special attention should be paid to the harshest punishment of ideologues and inspirers of crimes, including genocide. Karadžić is precisely such an ideologue, inspirer, and denier of genocide. Unfortunately, in BiH, we are witnessing a new stage in the process of genocide, which is the celebration and glorification of genocide, which has not been recorded anywhere before," stated the Platform.

They add that this is "an opportunity to call on the entire world for a more intensive fight against fascism and extremism of any kind."
