Plan for 2016: Mines to be exempted from diesel fuel toll payment

The Federal Government determined at today's session in Sarajevo a Proposal to the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority for exempting mines in the Federation of BiH from paying tolls on diesel fuel for 2016 in quantities intended for production totaling 29,178,966 liters, reports the Patria news agency.

The list includes the Mines „Kreka” d.o.o. Tuzla with 2,598,966 liters annually, the Brown Coal Mine „Đurđevik” d.o.o. Đurđevik with 4,310,000, the Brown Coal Mine „Kakanj” d.o.o. Kakanj with 5,500,000, the Brown Coal Mine „Zenica” d.o.o. Zenica with 280,000, the Brown Coal Mine „Breza” d.o.o. Breza with 820,000, the Brown Coal Mine „Abid Lolić” d.o.o. Travnik - Bila with 150,000, the Coal Mine „Gračanica” d.o.o. Gornji Vakuf - Uskoplje with 625,000, the Brown Coal Mines „Banovići” d.d. Banovići with 14,400,000, the Bauxite Mines d.o.o. Široki Brijeg with 120,000, „Bauxite Mines” d.o.o. Posušje with 300,000 and „Bauxite Mines Jajce” o.d.d. Jajce with 75,000 liters annually.

The reasons for adopting this decision are the requests of coal and bauxite mines arising from the established legal possibility for exemption from toll payment, and also from the fact that mines consume certain quantities of diesel fuel in the production of coal and overburden, and that the exemption from tolls will have positive effects on the operations of mines that perform their activity of general interest under extremely complex conditions.

The long-term balance of energy needs of the Federation of BiH, i.e., electricity production, is based on coal production in underground and surface mining, because of the total annual production, about 80 percent of coal from mines in the Federation of BiH is delivered to JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo, i.e., to the thermal power plants in Kakanj and Tuzla, it was announced from the Government of FBiH.
