SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The period during which elderly citizens have the opportunity to collect their pensions, stock up on necessary supplies, and pay bills expired today at 12 PM.
The fact that this is the last day for those over 65 to be allowed to move around to do what they must has created crowds at Elektroprivreda BiH payment points.
Patria's photojournalist visited several payment points and captured the crowds in front of them, and it is noticeable in the photos that the queues are mostly made up of elderly citizens.
Elektroprivreda has repeatedly stated that there will be no disconnections in case of non-payment of bills and that they are working on not charging interest.
Pensioners in BiH are traditionally the best payers and are the first to pay their bills, so this situation is not surprising.
Although all crisis headquarters urged those under 65 to reduce movement during the time allowed for pensioners, judging by the photos, this did not happen either.
Paying bills during the corona pandemic has clearly opened a race for a better spot in front of the payment points.
