The business policy of banks in BiH is such that a delay in credit obligation payments can be tolerated for seven to ten days, but after a longer delay, default interest is calculated, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
As Patria has already written, due to the delay in the payment of the Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Fund to banks, pensioners who have credit obligations are receiving notices from banks about calculated interest. However, pensions are paid by the 15th of the month at the latest, and obligations to banks are due on the 20th or even later.
Kenan Đonko, Director of the Directorate for Marketing, Communications, and Service Quality at Sparkasse Bank, stated that if a client is late with credit obligation payments and this happens repeatedly, the bank is obliged to categorize the credit into a lower category.
- You put them in the CRK (Central Credit Register) and then they become a delinquent client, and by doing so, you also endanger the bank's status – Đonko states.
However, besides this problem, Đonko also said that pensioners, who are usually the most punctual clients, often ask why they cannot receive their pensions on the 7th or 8th of the month.
- Pensioners come to the bank dissatisfied because they cannot get their money. However, we cannot pay out pensions until the PIO transfers the money to us. They have lists and certain chronologies of how they pay. If they cannot transfer pension money to all banks on the same day, then they should change the order, instead of favoring some banks – Đonko states.
