(Patria) - Israel's Jerusalem Post spoke with pilots who participated in the attacks on Tehran, and their statements, considering the context of the war and everything that accompanied the conflicts between Iran and Israel in recent days, are quite bizarre.
As one of the pilots emphasized in the conversation, on the first day of the attacks on Tehran, he received a message while performing his regular duties.
"Report to the squadron at dawn. Tomorrow it happens - a preemptive strike on the Iranian nuclear project," he described.
He points out that they had been preparing for this for years.
"I was surrounded by my parents, wife, children, but I had to act as if everything was normal. I knew that missiles could hit Israel within 24 hours. However, if I warned them, the mission could fail. It's a brutal feeling - you bite your lip to save lives," he explains.
On the day of the attack, he points out that they received a briefing from the commanders, the flight plan, and everything they needed for the mission. After that, the pilot described the flight near Tehran.
"From an altitude of 9,000 meters, Tehran looked almost serene. The city itself is no different from any other - pastoral, quiet. Perhaps the people below were scared, but from above it was peaceful. Flying over the Middle East in an Israeli fighter jet is madness. Tehran is beautiful from above, I hope to visit it one day," the pilot said.
In addition to the command centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Armed Forces, Israeli pilots also bombed other locations that were not of a military nature. Among other things, a prison, a television station, and a hospital in the Iranian capital were targeted.
