Drunk driver under driving ban caused traffic accident, driver of other car seriously injured

(Patria) - The Sarajevo police have released details of last night's traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday evening on the roadway of the express road "Western Approach to the City".

On that occasion, a collision occurred between a passenger motor vehicle "Citroen C4", driven by K.F., born in 1980, residing in Sarajevo, while under the influence of alcohol and during the duration of a protective measure of driving ban, and a passenger motor vehicle "VW Golf 7", driven by S.K., born in 1980, residing in Sarajevo.

In this traffic accident, driver S.K. sustained serious bodily injuries, and medical assistance was provided to him at the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo, where he was kept for further treatment at the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed, and the investigation was carried out by members of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton and authorized court experts in mechanical and traffic engineering. Due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of Serious Criminal Offenses against the Safety of Public Traffic (Article 336, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), in connection with the criminal offense of Endangering Public Traffic (Article 332, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), by order of the acting prosecutor, K.F. was deprived of his liberty and handed over to the Detention Facilities for Persons Deprived of Liberty of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.
