Drunken duo threatened café guests with a knife, then attacked the police

The operational duty desk of the Banja Luka Police Department was reported last night (26 August) around 8 p.m. that two persons had entered a catering facility in Branka Majstorovića Street in Banja Luka, who had broken a window pane at the said premises and a laptop over the past two days, and were threatening those present with a knife, reports the Patria news agency.

The police immediately arrived at the scene, where they found two intoxicated persons, who refused to leave the premises, instead taking a knife and a chair with the intention of resisting police officers. Due to suspicion that they would continue disturbing public order and peace, these two persons were immediately arrested.

It was established that they are D.Z. and J.M., both from Banja Luka. Breathalyzer tests showed that D.Z. had 1.36 g/kg and J.M. had 1.18 g/kg of alcohol in their blood.

The duty prosecutor of the District Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka was also informed about the incident.

A report will be filed against them for the criminal offenses of endangering security and obstructing an official in the performance of official duties, the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska announced.
