Pezeshkian to the US: We will not bow to coercion

(Patria) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says that deep historical mistrust towards the United States still prevails in his country.

In a post on platform X, Pezeshkian wrote that the basis for any meaningful dialogue remains exclusively the respect of undertaken commitments.

He sharply criticized the behavior of the US administration in recent days, calling their approach unconstructive and contradictory.

Pezeshkian points out that such actions send a message that Washington is actually seeking Iran's capitulation.

"The Iranian people will not bow to coercion," Pezeshkian concluded in his post on X.

Shortly before his post, US President Donald Trump announced in a statement to Fox News that an agreement with Iran would be signed today in Pakistan.

And earlier in an interview with the New York Post, he said that Vice President JD Vance and the US delegation are on their way to Islamabad for talks.

Trump added that he is ready to meet with top Iranian leaders if progress is made. He also said that at this stage of negotiations, he "does not expect games".

The core of the negotiations, as he said, is a non-negotiable demand – Iran must give up possession of nuclear weapons.

Iran has not confirmed sending a delegation to Islamabad, but Pakistani sources told the New York Post that Tehran is "ready for a second round", but that "no decision has been made yet".
