Friday, December 23: The Rijaset called on BiH citizens to collect aid for the people of Syria

The Rijaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a press release in which it called on Muslims and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to collect aid for the people of Syria, writes Patria.

- In all congregations within the territory of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at home and abroad, on Friday, December 23, the collection of voluntary monetary contributions, a collection, will be organized to help the suffering people of Syria.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on Muslims and all citizens to, in accordance with their capabilities, once again show selflessness and solidarity with people in a state of suffering and disenfranchisement, and to participate in providing assistance to the people of Syria. Our seemingly modest contribution can restore hope to a Syrian child, help them find meaning in life, or alleviate their pain and suffering.

Let us show faithful solidarity and human compassion. Let us show that we have understood the Islamic principle that people only have what they give to others, especially the needy and marginalized, that charity is the safest investment, that it is the path to achieving happiness in this world and the reason for salvation in the next. Whoever does not have love and mercy for another person distances themselves from God's love and mercy.   

Muslims, through the Islamic Community, have collected over 500,000 KM in the past two years, and this amount has been realized in a project to purchase, install, and equip 15 containers for the needs of a refugee camp for about 5,000 Syrian refugees. The Islamic Community also collected and realized about 185,000 KM in medical aid and aid for medical personnel caring for Syrian refugees in southern Turkey.
