SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Since 2014, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office has not launched an investigation into the case of the Cantonal Public Enterprise "Veterinary Station" Sarajevo, although an employee of this public enterprise and former responsible person Senad Arnautović has submitted extensive documentation about suspicions of serious malversations and abuse of power in that public enterprise, which, he warned, could jeopardize the health of people and animals in the Sarajevo Canton.
In March of this year, Arnautović also provided information about suspected illegal activities at the Veterinary Station to the Office for Combating Corruption of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, as Sarajevo Canton is the owner of the Veterinary Station. In the information provided to the government office, Arnautović stated that the Prosecutor's Office has not yet done anything regarding the submitted report.
"I submitted the report with complete documentation, which contains about 2,000 pages, to the Federal Police Administration and the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office in 2014. After that report, a search was conducted at the company, huge documentation was seized, but after that, everything stopped," Arnautović told the Patria agency. He has been working at the Veterinary Station for more than 20 years, in various management positions, from head of the veterinary clinic to head of the food safety laboratory, and for a time as acting director of the company.
"The recently dismissed management, under the pretext that they are not responsible for events that occurred before their term, are turning a blind eye and pretending not to notice the irregularities and crime they found and which continued to occur during their term," said Arnautović.
"With the formation of the new government in Sarajevo Canton and the current dismissals in public enterprises, a new management has been appointed who, I hope, will have a sense of responsibility on this issue and who will stop the robbery and further decline of this public enterprise," added Arnautović.
In the criminal complaint filed with the KS Prosecutor's Office in 2014, Arnautović warned that at the Veterinary Station Sarajevo during the specified period, there was no proper record of medicines, that incompetent staff worked in certain positions, that manipulations with documentation related to agricultural incentives were carried out, and that other strictly defined rules of the veterinary profession were violated.
