(Patria) - Since the start of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, 140 American soldiers have been injured, eight of them seriously, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell stated today.
According to him, most of these injuries are minor, and 108 soldiers have already returned to duty.
Parnell stated that the eight seriously injured soldiers are receiving "the highest level of medical care".
These figures come in addition to eight soldiers who have died since the beginning of the military campaign.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly admitted that casualties were expected, stating that the conflict would ultimately be "a great thing for the world".
The escalation in the Middle East has been ongoing since Israel and the United States launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28.
According to available reports, more than 1,200 people have been killed in the attacks so far, including Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile attacks on Israel, as well as on some Gulf countries where US military assets are located.
