(Patria) - In celebration of US President Donald Trump's birthday and the 250th anniversary of the US Army, the Pentagon is developing plans for a military parade.
The event could include the deployment of over 6,500 soldiers, around 150 vehicles, and 50 combat aircraft in Washington, US media reported yesterday, citing statements from unnamed officials.
Celebrations of the anniversary of the founding of the US Army, referred to as birthdays in military circles, are held across the US and at US bases worldwide, Reuters reports.
As part of the preparations for the anniversary celebration, the US Army has long planned to move troops and military equipment to the National Mall in Washington, which stretches between the Capitol and the monument to President Abraham Lincoln.
Unnamed US officials confirmed that a military parade is also included in the plans, given that the Army's anniversary falls on Trump's 79th birthday.
