Pentagon: We are providing $500 million in new military aid to Ukraine

(Patria) - The United States will deliver a new military package worth up to $500 million to Kyiv, the Pentagon announced. The package will include vehicles, including Bradley fighting vehicles and Stryker armored personnel carriers, as well as ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems HIMARS, the Pentagon said in a statement, Reuters reports.

The package "includes key capabilities to support Ukrainian counteroffensive operations, strengthen its air defense... and other equipment that will help Ukraine stop the Russian war of aggression," the Pentagon said.

"I am sincerely grateful," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Twitter, "for another $500 million in defense assistance. Additional Bradley and Stryker armored vehicles, ammunition for HIMARS, Patriots, and Stingers will further strengthen our forces."

The security assistance package is the 41st approved by the United States for Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022, totaling more than $40 billion.
